Four classic Beatrix Potter stories\, “The Tale of Peter Rabbit\,” “The Tailor of Gloucestor\,” “The Tale of Jeremy Fisher\,” and “The Tale of Tom Kitten\,” come to life in this mesmerizing puppet show\, complete with Potter’s original text and live\, original music. Various instruments\, such as mandolin\, violin\, toy piano\, and banjo\, create the score and melodies behind each story. The set is filled with dynamic suitcases and trunks where levers are pulled and cranks are turned to reveal images that surprise and delight. Three charming performers interweave classic narration and puppetry with gentle interactive moments\, recruiting the audience to join the adventure and encouraging young watchers to think about these iconic animal characters’ big emotions. This handmade\, lovingly crafted piece has been a popular favorite at Chicago Children’s Theatre since 2018. Over the past 5 years\, the production has performed an annual run at home during the holidays (under the name Beatrix Potter’s Holiday Tea Party and A Snowy Day with Beatrix Potter & Friends) and has toured to local schools\, libraries\, and cultural institutions\, as well as toured to various cities in China. 2024-2025 will be the production’s first national tour across North America.

This annual event has become a local favorite tradition to kick off the school year. \nWHO: All Larchmont-Mamaroneck students in Grades 2nd-8th (as of Fall 2024) that know how to swim and ride a bike (without training wheels) are eligible to participate \nWHY: The Triathlon is an opportunity for kids from throughout the Mamaroneck School District to join together and engage in a fun physical challenge for a great cause. It’s a day full of smiles and high fives – every child receives a medal. DESCRIPTION:LMC Media\, in partnership with the Village of Mamaroneck’s Parks and Recreation\, will once again host the wildly popular Tiki Party at Harbor Island Park on Friday\, July 12th\, beginning at 6pm. (Rain Date is Saturday\, July 13.) This free community event brings over 3\,000 people together from across the Sound Shore to enjoy food\, drinks\, a live band\, fire dancers\, and more! There will be activities for all ages. The evening culminates with a movie screening under the stars — Under the Boardwalk!

SUMMARY:Excelsior Symphony Orchestra's FREE Outdoor Concert at Harbor Island Park
DESCRIPTION:The Excelsior Symphony Orchestra (formerly known as the St. Thomas Orchestra)\, under the baton of music director William Eckfeld\, will perform an outdoor concert at Harbor Island Park before the July 4th Fireworks Display. Since 2013\, the Village of Mamaroneck has partnered with the Excelsior Symphony Orchestra to provide a free\, family-friendly\, outdoor concert prior to the Village of Mamaroneck Volunteer Fire Department’s Fireworks Display. The concert will begin at 8:00pm and will feature works by Aaron Copland\, William Eckfeld\, George Gershwin\, and John Philip Sousa\, as well as vocal selections from soloist Alison Tupay\, a song from Artistree Community Theater’s production of “Guys and Dolls”; and finally\, Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture” — a staple of many Independence Day fireworks displays. SUMMARY:Harbor Island's 50th Annual Blessing of the Fleet and Boat Parade
DESCRIPTION:The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 75\, with support from the Village of Mamaroneck Harbor Master\, will host the 50th Annual Blessing of the Fleet on Thursday\, July 4th. Come to the West Basin at Harbor Island Park at 12 noon for the Parade of Ships. Vessels of all shapes and sizes are festively decorated by mariners who parade in front of a reviewing stand to receive a blessing from local clergy\, and are judged in hopes of winning prizes supplied by local merchants.
