SUMMARY:MSF Jr Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:WHAT: A triathlon competition that takes place around Flint Park and Hommocks Middle School – our kids swim\, bike and run to the finish! This annual event has become a local favorite tradition to kick off the school year. \nWHO: All Larchmont-Mamaroneck students in Grades 2nd-8th (as of Fall 2024) that know how to swim and ride a bike (without training wheels) are eligible to participate \nWHY: The Triathlon is an opportunity for kids from throughout the Mamaroneck School District to join together and engage in a fun physical challenge for a great cause. It’s a day full of smiles and high fives – every child receives a medal. Come be a part of the action! \nTHE DETAILS: \n\n8 yrs old and under: 1 lap of the pool*\, 1 mile bike\, 1 mile run\n9–10 yrs: 3 laps of the pool\, 2 mile bike\, 1 mile run\n11–12 yrs: 5 laps of the pool\, 2 mile bike\, 1 mile run\n13 yrs and up: 7 laps of the pool\, 2 mile bike\, 1 mile run\n\n*NOTE: one lap of the pool = 25 yards \nA few things to consider: \n\nChildren must be able to complete the event unassisted.\nMandatory bike/helmet check-in for the event is on Friday\, September 20 from 4:30–7PM at Hommocks Middle School. Bikes and helmets are required at check-in. Further details will be sent to registrants.\nParticipants must arrive at Hommocks by 6:30AM on race day.\nNOTE: Scholarships are available!
