Below you will find some useful summaries of our Enrichment Programs. You can click on the program titles for more detailed information.

After School Clubs

The Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle (BGCNR) has taken over the management of the After School Clubs for elementary schools within the Mamaroneck School District. The main difference for parents is that registration and payment will take place through the BGCNR website, and that BGCNR will be the main point of contact.

Art Appreciation

Twice a year, parent volunteers create art projects in the classroom.  The Art Appreciation committee selects the featured artist, creates the project and procures the materials.

Chat Chess ( now offered as part of the Winter Lunch Clubs  – see below )

Chat Chess is an enrichment program open to all students in grades 1-5. Chat Chess starts in January and meets once each week for 10 weeks during lunch and recess (intentionally scheduled to coincide with the coldest time of year!). This program has been extremely popular in past years. Please contact Alexis Katz (lerneralexis@gmail.com) with any questions.

Chatsworth’s Coffee Clutch

Chat Coffee Clutch is a free (PTA funded) program open to all parents.  Guest speakers will present and discuss hot topics for parents several times throughout the year.  Any questions please contact Valerie Mouracade at littleval91@gmail.com

Chat Musical

The PTA brings in a production coordinator to direct the actual musical. The parent coordinators for the cast, crew and chorus are responsible for communicating rehearsal schedules to student participants and parent volunteers. The coordinators help with auditions and then staff the two weeks of rehearsals leading up to the two days of performances.

Chat Science

The Science Initiatives Committee identifies and coordinates science-based enrichment programming.

Cultural Arts

The Cultural Arts Committee works closely with the Principal and Assistant Principal to find academic enrichment opportunities specific to each grade level, as well as putting on two school-wide assemblies each year.

Mindfulness

The Mindfulness Committee seeks to cultivate the emotional and social development of our children by promoting the development of skills to increase self-awareness, focus, emotional resilience and stress reduction at home and at school.

Talent Show

We welcome students from K-5 who would like to perform anything they can imagine — song or dance, standup comedy or dramatic skit, gymnastics or original poetry reading!

Winter Lunch Clubs

Winter lunch clubs will be starting the week of January 13th, 2020, and will meet once a week for 10 weeks during lunch and recess (intentionally scheduled to coincide with the coldest time of year!).  For the 2019/20 school year, we have lunchtime Chat chess clubs for Grades 1-5, STEM RoboBuddies clubs for Grades 1-3, and Wobbel Wave yoga clubs for Grades 3-4.
